A very creative mollusk with a talent for linework. Prefers IPAs.
Based on the cuttlefish, a fascinating relative of octopuses, squids, and nautiluses. Some cool things about them:
- They have two hearts for pumping blood to their gills and a third heart for everything else.
- To look around, their actual eye changes shape to move the lens. I can’t even fathom this.
- They have a unique internal bone that helps them control buoyancy. When they die (after their short two-year lifespan), this bone is all that’s left. You’ve probably seen it sold at pet stores as a calcium supplement for birds.
