Polytail 5×7 Print

$9.00

The Polytail Drake bears it’s name in reference to it’s many whip-like tails, used to strike at prey and rivals. It’s fortified outer skin is tough, yet flexible like tires, and boasts impressive thorns. To eat, it uses it’s forward facing prongs to stab, and it’s backward facing pincers to slice, like having 2 pairs of scissors for a face. This species alone amounts to well over half of our zookeeper’s medical and therapy expenditures

My favorite element of animal design is thinking of new ways to create commonly anthropomorphic features such as jaws, hands, feet and tails. The two forward arms bear 2 fingers on either side for gripping and climbing trees, kind of like a chameleon now that I think of it.. the hind legs feature the single, stable toe formation of horses combined with supporting twin talons, also for climbing
