Description
The “Pufferfish” is, in fact, a dwarf gourami, but let’s not get caught up in semantics. Native to India, West Bengal, Assam, and Bangladesh, dwarf gouramis belong to the same family as bettas and the infamous snakehead. Like their relatives, they have a labyrinth organ that lets them breathe air, making them some of the few fish that can survive in low-oxygen environments.
I used to keep these little guys in my first aquariums when I moved beyond just bettas. Their long pelvic fins evolved into feelers that they can point in any direction, which is just about the cutest thing. Unlike their aggressive cousins, gouramis tend to be mellow—except when they’re dealing with identity crises like this one.
This sticker is a colorful tribute to one of the most underrated freshwater fish. Whether you’re a fishkeeper, an aquarium nerd, or just someone who enjoys a little absurdity in their life, this one’s for you.
