A slow moving, and Walking Plant, The weed walker uses its arms to cannibalize surrounding grasses. They use their rudimentary eye-stalks to slowly scan the horizon, searching for threats and food. On its native planet, mobile “plants” are common and most are harmless to human explorers.

Movement may seem like something plants on earth don’t do, but they do it all the time. Short of walking around, they adjust their leaves to point to the sun, and grow their structures in different ways to find/ avoid different stimuli. If roots encounter an underground source of water, for example, some species will concentrate roots to grow towards that pocket, and some may have problems with too much water and choose to avoid the patch.
